FAQ

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to external data sources and tools. It sits between your AI client, such as Claude or ChatGPT, and services that provide real-time data.

Do I need an API key?

No. The Market Data server is public, with no key and no login. The Trading server logs you in with a code we email to your True Markets account, so there is no API key to create or place.

Which AI clients are supported?

Any MCP-compatible client, including Claude (claude.ai, Desktop, and Code), ChatGPT and Cursor. See the setup guides for each one.

What chains are supported?

The chains list_assets returns, which are the values the tools' chain parameter accepts. list_assets returns each token with its chain.

How real-time is the data?

Price data is near real-time, typically within seconds of on-chain activity. Market summaries and asset summaries are AI-generated and updated throughout the day.

Is there a rate limit?

Yes. The server is built for interactive assistant use, and we apply rate limits so every user gets fair access. If you are building a high-frequency application, contact [email protected].

Can I execute trades through MCP?

Yes. The Trading server places market orders, on-chain or on the exchange. Once you log in with your True Markets account, your assistant can prepare and execute trades. You sign every transaction locally, so your signing key never leaves your device.

Is my data private?

The Market Data server does not collect any personal data. See the privacy policy for details.
