Gateway FAQs
Do my users sign up with True Markets?
No. You create each user through the API, and they never sign in to True Markets. User accounts shows the call. To try the model before you write code, create a test user on the console's Users page.
What's the difference between an admin and a user?
Admins are the people on your team who sign in to the developer console. Users are your customers, and you trade for them through the API.
Is there a test mode?
Not yet. We don't have a fully working sandbox, so every trade is a real on-chain transaction. Keep your first trades small; a real trade also proves the whole flow. The Go live checklist covers what to check first.
Can I change a user's signer key?
Not today. You set it when you create the user, and there is no rotation yet. If you lose the key, that user's wallet can never sign again and we can't recover it, so keep it in an HSM or a secrets manager with a backup. Signer keys explains where it can live.
Why did creating a user return a 503?
The user exists, but their wallets aren't ready yet. Send the same request again. It finishes the wallets and returns the user.
Why did execute return quote_stale?
The quote expired, or the price moved, before execute landed. Place the order again and execute it right away.
Why did placing an order return no order_id?
The wallet can't fund the buy. The response is still 201, but order_id is empty and quote.issues says why. Fund the wallet and place the order again. Funding covers what to send.
What happens if I send too many requests?
We answer 429 with the usual error body. Back off and retry. Your token stays valid for its full hour, so there's nothing to mint again.
What should I send support when something fails?
Every error response includes a request_id. Email it to [email protected] with the time of the request.
